One of the things I love best
is the feeling that I am helping others to learn
and enjoy sewing.
I try to encourage anyone I can
to this end.
My patterns have been streamlined
and filled with helpful tips
for this purpose, as well.
Recently a dear online sewing friend
had a precious young niece visiting her.
They spent time together playing
with the beautiful collection of dolls.
Naturally, new clothes were in order!
Doll clothes, that is!
I was gratified to hear that my friend
quickly thought of my Ezy T pattern.
Halloween fabrics were selected and sewing began.
Here is a shot of the action!
You may recall that the pattern is meant for knit fabrics.
An important note here is that the fabrics selected were
actually simple, woven cottons!
I am told this worked well, though the side seams were serged
and pressed and the armhole clearances may be just a bit snug.
I have not tried this myself but a photo does not lie!
Here is our little friend, toiling away!
(if your machine has a slower speed setting I recommend this for newbies)
with a bit of serging help here and there from her aunt
we have some happy results!
How about that for gorgeous results?
More good news!
The Ezy T goes together so quickly that two dresses
were made in a reasonable time.
how about the cute foldover elastic belts, too?
After all the sewing?
There was even time to do some adventuring…
Let’s go up to the doll room!
A great time was had by all!
I am so very glad to have had a tiny part
in this happy day of sewing and dolly play time.
If there is a youngster in your life
that might share your interest in sewing
please seize the opportunity!
I especially recommend simple patterns to begin.
The Double Take Reversible Sundress
is another Janie Carroll Designs pattern that is a great starting point.
Happy Sewing!!
This is so great! So cool seeing her interested in sewing and making her doll clothes! That’s awesome that it’s so easy even kids can do it. 🙂
