It’s a happy morning when you open up Facebook
and are immediately greeted by a photo as adorable as this one!
Such excellent photography combined with
quality workmanship.
On top of all of this? It’s an Ezy T!
I had to share this one with all of you!
I sent a message off to my dear friend, Julie Helmer
who is the owner, creator and designer at
Sew Dolled Up 81.
She graciously agreed that I might share her photo,
and she promptly sent me the entire photo shoot!
As I told her, I felt like I was at the photo studio at JCP
and the salesman had just offered me a fabulous deal
on the entire set of prints.
How about this one?
Oh, gee!
or this one?
There are TWO adorable Ezy T’s – complete with stripe-y leggings!
I started asking questions.
I knew you would all enjoy the full 411.
First a little back story.
In a past life, Julie was a portrait photographer.
(so now you know why ALL her photos are gorgeous)
She’s also a talented seamstress.
(hence, the impeccable craftsmanship)
Besides this, she has an artist’s eye for color and fabrics.
(perfect combinations every time!)
It all comes together beautifully!
Julie does some pattern testing for me
from time to time when she’s not busy administering her
Facebook group page, ‘Wellie Wisher Couture’
or designing her own adorable patterns
like this one:
which you can find in her etsy shop here:
All Tied Up pattern by Sew Dolled Up 81
(She has several other designs in a variety of sizes, too!)
BUT, back to her darling bunny sets!
Julie shared her secret with me –
These embroidered and appliqued Ezy T’s
were cut from new infant-sized one-piece bodysuits!
She purchased them with these sweet designs already on them!
The Ezy T pattern was perfect for transforming
them into the darling little shirts you see here.
Once again, the Ezy T’s lack of a messy sleeve/underarm seam
offers a wide, smooth space to showcase design details.
Choosing striped knit fabric for leggings was easy enough.
Stitching them using my JCD Gym Duds pattern
was ez-ier still!
Sometimes we complicate our lives needlessly.
There are adorable embroidered designs available for
our own stitching. Sometimes that’s the right choice.
At other times? A quick solution like re-purposing
baby bodysuits is smart – and just as darling!
Many thanks to Julie for allowing me to share
a little bit of her story
and her darling Bunny Girls!
(looks like these are for sale in her etsy shop. Better hurry!)
As to my JCD Ezy T pattern?
You can find that in MY etsy shop,
with sizes for several popular dolls.
Did you read this far?
My Ezy T for standard 18″ dolls will soon be
re-released in a re-loaded, updated pattern format.
Fresh instructional, added tips.
New necklines and new bonus material!
Coming soon – I’ll announce it here.
Have a wonderful day – Spring is on its way!
Great feature post! Julie’s EZY Tees are adorable and the photography top notch. Now we know why.
